Looking at the Sporster 1200 - and adding a nice comfortable seat. The wife sat on back of stock 1200 and hated the seat. The dealer guided me towards a Dyna - he says it is much more comfortable for 2 up riding. However - the wife will only ride MAYBE 3-4 times a year. She has no interest in riding. So - is it worth it for the extra $3-4k for a Dyna or is a Sportster 1200 fine for occasional 2 up??

My wife and I ride about 2 times a week on my 1200. You'll probably want to swap out the stock seat with a Sundowner though. She loves it. It's plenty ehough bike for 2 up riding.Use the extra cash you'll save on chrome and a new seat.

 

I think the sporty is fine for 2 up riding. In fact today I plan on going several hundred miles 2 up. The only things I would recomend are a sissy bar andheavy duty rear shocks.

 

Forgot about the Sundowner seat, my bike came with it stock.

 

Get the Sundowner, no question.It's very comfy both solo & 2up. The wife hated the stock seat but has no problem doing several hours on the Sundowner. I use it solo doing 10-12 hour rides no problem.
