HEY HARLEY HEADS, SO ON MY 93 SPORTSTER HUGGER I CAN SEE MY REAR BRAKE LINE IS STARTING TO GET SOME SURFACE RUST, AND I WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE IT OUT WITH A BRAND NEW ONE. ONLY PROBLEM IS I THINK THEY WERE DISCONTINUED AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE STOPLAMP SWITCH IS BUILT INTO THE BRAKE LINE SOMEHOW. I WAS WONDERING IF IT WAS POSSIBLE TO RUN AFTERMARKET HOSE AND STILL HAVE THE BRAKE LIGHT WORK? AND ALSO I NEED NEW PADS AND IVE HEARD THAT EBC ARE THE TOP QUALITY. WHAT ARE YOUR GUYS THOUGHTS ON THEM? ANY INPUT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED, THANKS GUYS.
If you can't find a stock part and need to make your own, this could help. You use this instead of a banjo bolt. Sorry yelling,,THIS MAY NOT BE THE CORRECT THREAD SIZE OR PITCH, but is an EXAMPLE of what is available. There are many more styles of this and even double banjo bolts that can be made to work. You would then need to get the correct sizes of hoses and parts:
I have used aftermarket generic premade motorcycle brake hoses from Amazon, they work fine. Its a good practice to replace the crush washers but I have reused washers without leaks.
Measure your existing hose in cm and find one that is close. They generally come in lengths of 30, 45, 60, 90cm on up.
