Default Sportster front fork model

Hello,

I have bought a Sportster front fork, and the previous owner don't know exactly for what Sportster model is it.
Please see the pictures. Can somebody tell me for what Sportster model is this fork? I need to look also for a manual.

Thanks in advance
Marcel

With the rubber bushes in the top yoke I think that is from a Custom.

The diameter of the axle will give a clue as to the year of bike it came off.

Any part numbers stamped on it? The pics are a bit distorted on my laptop screen.

If the triple trees and fork tube/slider assemblies were original to each other, it's from a 99-earlier Dyna. (Dynas did use those triples up through 2005)

It will work on a Sportster, but you won't have a fork lock and you'll need to use a 99-earlier Caliper.

Please see some more pictures.
I think the fork and tripple tree are not from the same bike model.
The distance between caliper mounting bolts is 87 mm.

Ok, one more time

- Those are Dyna triple trees, but will work on Sportster. You will no longer have a fork lock.

- Those are 1999 & earlier Dyna/Sportster fork tube/slider assemblies. You will need to use a 99-earlier brake caliper or aftermarket equivalent. (Or adapters with later calipers)

A Wilwood 4 piston caliper is a good option, I installed one on my '98 Dyna and it works well. The original HD single piston caliper was weak and EBC HH pads only made a trivial improvement.
