EFI backfiring

I'm starting to get some minor backfiring on my Sporty. It just started recently with the weather getting a little colder. The bike runs fine and does'nt cut out or stumble. It does it mostly on engine braking(deacceleration). I searched for backfire threads but they all seem to be about carbed bikes.
Any ideas?[sm=biker.gif]

Can't happen. Everyone knows the EFI eliminated all of the backfiring and carb farts issues. It's a much superior fuel system. [:@]

Sorry for the smart ass reply. I mostly did it to bump your post to see if someone with an EFI bike might could help you.;)

What all have you done to your bike? Any fuel management system?
I have the Power Commander III USB and I also seem to be getting a little more popping from the exhaust since the weather turned cooler.

I've been getting the same thing. I had the SE/AC and download donelast winterwith SE slip-ons. I thought the cause was when I changed to V&H slip-ons a few weeks ago. It's not that bad and was just blowing it off.

Hey I thought FI was suppose to adjust for this stuff and solve carb farts.:D

I can't really help you. If you tuned it yourself with something like a PC3 or SERT, then you will need to retune it. Otherwise, that shouldn't happen.

There is always the carb mod: since my carb doesn't do that in cold weather.

It's as simple as finding the secret, mixture adjusting electrons, and backing them out a 1/4 of a turn.:D:D

I test rode a 2007 that would back fire thru the intake even with the EFI. No thanks.

It did solve carb farts, there's no carb on it. ;)
I have never heard a pop or fart come from the intake on mine, just some pops from the exhaust. Just have to get it tuned better just like you would have to do on a carbed bike.
