Default First Rebuild

I may have missed it, but I don't recall a reason for the first rebuild at 123k miles? Was there a specific need or was it a desire for more power?

Sorry to see you wrecked the Sporty but glad the injuries were minor.

I currently have 234,000 miles on my 2006 Sporty. I killed the engine at 206,000 last year when the cardboard seal from a quart of oil fell into the oil tank un noticed and blocked oil flow

Just did a 1600 mile ride through New England. I happen to have a photo of the odometer from the start of the trip because I started a mileage challenge Saturday (MS5000 - 5000 miles in 50 days). The receipt documents that the mileage was from Saturday

I'm running the same model seat and backrest. Just finished a 1400 mile ride to a flat track race in Mechanicsburg Pa, then down to Asheville NC and a visit to Wheels through Time then back home. The seat worked great!

Good fun...

Looks like a fun trip, however you missed a photo of Brett Donahue's Sportster which is one of two to have completed the iron Butt Rally

I know! I realized after the fact. I would have sworn I had pictures of it. I guess I was too busy checking it out, I failed to get any pics...

The trip was awesome.

I was all over that bike trying to see how he plumbed in the aux fuel tank. Turns out he did the same thing I did with mine which isn't surprising as there are only so many ways to do so.

I'm sure it was a great ride. Wheels thru Time is a cool place and I am looking forward to going back
