Of course tastes differ, for the heavy front end, those bobs and the roadsters look nice in blacks, and orange and blacks. I just don't like that peanut. When I started shopping and saw that 4.5 tank, and the custom, that was mine! I thought, except for a few chrome diddys, I loved the stock look also. Then... couldnt resist a custom solo seat, flame this and that, WetDreamz pipes... So, I wanted chrome fork lowers and ended upgetting two inch estensions,...Now it is tweaked and yet still very Sportyish. I wont do pictures until it is ready, the calipers will be back from the chrome shop monday and the pictures will roll out when it is back together. The Sportster is closer to a "real motorcycle" than a dresser. If I had the time to ride more, the dresser would be a second or third bike, but a Sportster would always be number one.

I will trade even my new 1200C(800 miles) for a like-same nightster.

I went in to buy a nightster but none were available at the time......

Voted for the 1200 Custom also when I bought mine, but I really like the diversity of the sporty line, especilly the Nightsters.

I personally like all of the Sporty line, but was drawn to the Custom for several reasons. First, the chrome. Secondly the 4.5 gallon tank IMO looks better (to me) than the peanut. I also agree that OFG's '05 Custom is one of the better looking Sportys on the forum - mine is nearly identical except for the front end. Not shown are my recent additions - the flame air cleaner insert, timer cover and derby cover. BTW, I'm considering a raked and extended kit for my bike at some point in the future - a mid or wide glide maybe 6" over stock.

OFG's Sporty

Was gonna go with the 1200c as well, until I saw the Nightster. I think that the mods done to this bike were well thought out, and made it very appealing even for stock. Of course I think that all bikes need some modifications to match the riders taste.
