Gapping HD double platinum plugs

Default Gapping HD double platinum plugs

I got a pair of HD double platinum plugs (6R12PP) for my ’02 883 Sportster and noticed they are gapped very narrow out of the box, around .015. The existing (original) plugs in my bike are gapped around .040 (I think the range is .038 to .043).

I will take quite a bend on the side electrode to achieve a .038 gap on these plugs. Wanted to check first and see if HD double platinum plugs are supposed to run a narrower gap than standard HD plugs.
