I just recieved my Sidekick seat (P/N 52859-04A) for my Nightster. I went to install it and it doesn't fit over the ECM. I double checked to make sure that it was the right seat/part number and it is. Is there a trick to this or did HD just F^&K up and mislable my seat?

Did you buy it at a dealer?

 

I bought it online from a HD dealer that had a sale going on. They told me to send it back and they'll order another one. I was told that mis-labeling things does happen from time to time at HD.

 

it was probably meant for an 03-06 sporty. The 07+ have a different cutout for the ECM.
