Default Worn thru wires on R/R directional....anyone have this happen to them?

I was riding to work Thursday and noticed that I lost the lights at the R/R directional signal. I rode her home and did a quick investigation. I have the turn/run/brake module and lost the run/brake functionality but still had directionals. So the bulb is still good. I reached under the fender and found the wires were chaffed all the way thru. I removed the blinker and fender support and repaired the wires. Damn crap fried the R/R channel in the Run/turn/brake modual. Well $60 lighter in the wallet later all is good.

Has anyone had this happen to them. My bike is an '08 with only 900 miles! WTF!

When I installed the hardware for my quick disconnect back rest, I failed to get the LR wires back in the clip properly. They flopped out and the tire wore thru the wires. No module, just stock turn signals. Took a couple of hours to fix. The wire was now too short to splice, had to back up into the buld housing and replace the wire. Made sure it was in the clip this time.

ss377- I think that is what had happened and that is why I did not take it for a warranty fix as I did the same along with swapping out the stock black frame covers for chrome ones. The R/T/B module only has a 90 day warranty and was given to me for a Christmas present and would not have been covered anyway. It only took me an hour to repair the wires. Far shorter and less of a hassle than trying to get the bike fixed at the dealer who whould have charged me for a non warranty repair anyway.
