Default My kickstand spring fell off, where does it hook on the frame?

I have a motorcycle dolly that I use to keep the bike in the front of the garage and move it easily with my other two vehicles. I backed the bike onto the dolly last night and I hear a metallic ping. So I drop the kickstand strap the bike down and look and the kickstand spring is laying in the dolly. I can see where it goes on the kickstand but not where it goes on the frame. I found an obvious location that appeared to be it but I couldn't get the spring to reach.

Any help is appreciated. Its an 08 Nightster

Mine has a pin sticking straight down to the ground directly inboard (towerd the center of the bike) from the pivot point of the stand, you may be able to see the pin sticking down easier from the right side of the bike.

Yeah I see the pin. That looked like the obvious place to put it, but when I hooked it there the kickstand doesn't stay up when in the raised position. Maybe the spring is damaged. Kind of pisses me off at 190 miles when I'm wanting to put miles on the bike. Any idea if Harley stocks the spring? I might go to the local dealer and look at one and pick up a spring.

It might have stretched the spring, or, ben the pin. Is the pin facing pretty much straight down when the bike is level?
Hopefully the dealer will stock them, if not a universal spring from a hardware store might do the trick while your waiting for the new one to come in.

That looks about right, I would say the spring is stretched.

Spring was stretched way the hell out. I went and got a new one and all is good.
