Default newbie with 883/1200 top end rebuild

Hello All. I just bought my first harley on ebay. Im now rebuilding top end and needed advise. Bike has already been upgraded to 1200 but not sure how it was done. I've been told by dealer it can be done a few ways. He didn't explain and I was hoping someone could for me. I need to rebuild mine because a piston failure. Im looking at cylinder/piston kits on ebay and it looks there are a few that would fit. Im wondering if I could go with the higher 10.5:1 pistons without modifying my heads? There is one kit that says it has 9.5:1 pistons and no head modification needed.
I just want to get it fixed and maybe add a little more preformance if it can be done cheaply. Thanks for any advice you can give me. Todd.

Congrats on the new bike. I recently picked one up that was converted using Buell and Thunderstorm parts myself.&nbsp\\;
