My question is: Will I have to modify the front fender?? How will this alter the ride?
Thanks

Front fender stays the same as long as you use the 100/90 tire, handling is better. Done it on my 08 1200C

Good Morning All,
I have been trying to find out all I can about changing to a mag type front wheel on my 09 1200C. Currently I have a 21" laced … I do not want to make a mistake when I do this.
So … I found a black and Chrome 19" wheel … it says XL FXD Narrow Glide front ends … wheel size is: 19 X 2.15 … from a 2006 … would this fit my needs without modification and what size tire would I use?
Thanks so much for your help.

Wise words from a man who knows.
If the OP does want to go completely Forty Eight, he will need a wheel, upper tree assembly off a Forty Eight (black) or newer Custom (chrome), lower tree assembly which includes the axle, and bearings. All this added together is just under $500.00, I have checked. Also you will need a front wheel off a Forty Eight or Custom, depending on the finish. Make sure that if you were to go the Custom route you get one off a new model, I believe this year was the first year that the C went to a Mid Glide setup.

I just but a 90/90/21 metz 880 on mine and I really like the way it looks and handles. I'm not sure if you could go much bigger than that. I know someone said 100/90 but man that would be tight. I don't have any pics yet but I'll try to get some in my garage this weekend.

Anybody tried putting a rear sportster wheel on the front so the sizes are the same? My friend did that and said that the handling was more stable. And his was an 883R, so he mounted 2 rotors infront on the original rear sportster wheel, looks awesome.
