Default Are these fenders extra clean or is this what the underside looks like? ?

I bought all the tin from a 2008 1200. The insides of these fenders look like brand new. I have never looked at the underside of a fender closely before, but being from 2008 they look amazing. I have the tank too which is excellent looking but not quite to this level. Just curious, I've had clean looking bikes but never really thought about the undersides of fenders. Factory markings too. Thanks for the info. Also, is this set of tins valuable?

It looks like the tins that you have are from a 2008 105th Anniversary XL1200L (Low). or XL1200C (Custom), model.

The tank should have 105th Anniversary emblems on it, see the images of a 2008 XL1200L below.

If you have the complete tins including the air filter cover, they are collectors items and will be worth more than the ordinary tins set.

You could try contacting a Harley-Davidson dealership as to their possible value.

Looks good to me, you scored!

Unless they use some paint taken from an alien spacecraft, probably not worth more than other fenders.

Thanks for those pics. No I didn't get the air cleaner cover, bummer. But I did get the seat which is excellent condition. It has the gold stripe in it leading to the tank.

The 105th anniversary models were produced as a limited batch of 2000 units in copper and black paintwork, every one is individually numbered on a plate mounted to the handlebar clamp. After fifteen years, there won't be many as new tin sets around.

The paint is excellent. In comparison HD started going down the toilet on the newer bikes. The paint prep is low standard and the metal is prone to rusting such that paint bubbles up. On my front mudguard the underside by the mounting bracket is rusty.

You have done very well there.
