its a fitting like on a tire, but is threaded to go into air tanks and what-not. ace hardware carries them for a few bucks apiece. if you don't expect to change the height, you really don't need them. according to what a claimed suspension expert says, the air just sets the preload and doesn't adjust the ride quality at all.

you could just compress the shock and cap the holes with plugs (a pair of plugs came with my shocks, most likely to keep the oil in).

with the long shocks, you may never need to put air in them because there is A LOT of travel available. for those who ride two-up on a nightster (or any other sportster) and have bags, do yourself a favor and get the 13 inchers. you wont see the difference anyway... BUT, if you are really short and need all the lowering you can get, don't get the 13 inchers you might have problems flat-footing at a light.

ps: the rake/trail changes when you raise the rear. i'm pretty sure this is the same frame and geometry of the xr. man, i want that inverted fork so bad

[QUOTE=Elvis Nixon;3970358]Here's some pics of my bike with the shorter (11.75") Street Glide shocks and 1" lowering tabs.

This looks good - how does it ride?

Also what bag is that there that you have? Like it.

Default Bag and Bars

Love the bag as well. also the best bars I've seen on a nightster to date. Where did you get the bars and what are the specs?

That being said I applaud anyone for ingenuity and would love to see what it looks like.
I agree with you, but we are the minority here. After 6000+ miles using the stock Nightster seat and suspension, I do not think it's uncomfortable at all. There was some leg discomfort on longer trips when I had mids, but that was all.

That bag is a Licks Solo bag I believe. I have one and it looks good but it don't hold much.

I have a question.
Can you use 11" ones, and add air to get to 13"?

Question.... I just bought a set of shocks on EBAY .. The link is Here

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

Now, I didnt notice until i recieved the shocks. The box was soaked in oil. I noticed that one of the shocks do not have the proper cap on them.

Well here goes my question. Does HD sell replacement caps for those shocks? It seems like the cap he replaced it with has the right threading. It didnt look turned in all the way when i recieved them.
