Ya'll that have been shut in for the winter, just remember to take it easy at first. I ride all year. But today was the first Saturday here with sunny skies and mid 70 degrees (it's been a pretty cold winter here. Was just in the 30's 5 days ago). I think damn near every motorcycle in the area was out.
People get the bike out. Forget they haven't rode in several months, and get in trouble. I saw 3 different individual wipe outs today. A couple of them were pretty bad. I don't think anybody was seriously hurt in any of them, but 2 resulted in some major damage to the bike. One of the wipe outs was a guy that came out from a country cross road behind me. It was a bit of a twisty road, and he was determined to keep up. I wasn't "racing" him. Just doing a nice spirited ride. If it had been August, he probably would have been fine. First serious curve I ran through. He didn't. Was running about 60 mph when he crashed. He seemed to be ok. Bike was kinda messed up, but didn't need a tow. He was very lucky.
If it's been a while since you've been on 2 wheels. Take it easy at first!!!!
