Default Any one here use the Love Jug Cooling Fans on their sportster?

I have a 2017 1200C stock bike. The bike gets hot after long rides. Was wonder if a product called Love Jugs (cooling fans) was worth looking in to?

No haven't used them. My bike never gets that hot. How hot does your oil temp get. Mine usually runs at 200 degrees and will get to 210 to 215 on 80 mph interstate runs. Not hot enough to worry.

Don't know the running temp. I picked up a HD oil temp/dip stick and will check it out this weekend when I ride.

HSCIC rocks one though.

don't let anyone tell you what you do or don't need. if you want either/or, do it and don't look back. your bike = your rules.

Just do a search on Love Jugs or cooling fans and you will get some thread with discussions on the fan (although some are about Wards vs LJ). I believe my thread is the only one on a Sportster....I installed the fan only because I ride in daily stop and go traffic and needed to cool the bike down as the engine temp was just getting too high (on the verge of pinging IMO)....and my issue was there is nowhere to pull over to cool the bike down i.e. no shoulder lanes.

It's an air cooled engine, it gets hot. Do you want fans to cool your legs or are you concerned about the welfare of the engine? Unless you are sitting in traffic for extended periods of time without any airflow, the fans are unnecessary.

If you are interested in the fans to keep cool yourself, I doubt they help.

Sorry, I really need to comment here. People who are not correctly informed will make their own decisions, but when they misinform others they unintentionally do harm to their brothers and sisters.

I strongly recommend that LoneWoolf and anyone else who would like to prolong the life of their engine and cut down dramatically on heat related repairs (while riding hugely more comfortably) should check out the Love Jugs web site (just a click away from here).

There you will find the recent tests run independently by AMSOIL to see the temp differences with and without Love Jugs. Bottom line - oil is over 50˚ cooler and cylinders about 140˚ cooler with Love Jugs on Vs. off. See AMSOIL's original test results. This conforms with the scores of other independent tests as well as tens of thousands of our customer's riding experiences.

I respectfully invite LoneWoolf and Hexnut to see what AMSOIL and the dozens of critical media reviews say about how much Love Jugs protect your engines and respond on this thread. For more information you can call me personally at 561-499-0974 and we can discuss the science of how these results are achieved and why Harley mechanics say that Love Jugs will prolong the life of your engine by 50,000 miles. - Steve

I have no dog in this race. I have no use for this product. My bike runs as designed. And I have no brothers and sisters on here.

Steve, I take it that this is not exactly an empirical study, but more opinion based on the mechanics work experience. Regardless, there was one element of your website that did catch my eye. That element is your "One Hundred Percent, No Questions Asked, Money Back Guarantee, if you are not Delighted with your Love Jugs". Bottom line, it seems that if any consumer that is concerned about their V-twin air cooled engine not having sufficient air flow, they can give your product a try without fear of being dissatisfied with the result.
