bottoming out
today on the highway 75 plus mph i can hit a solid bump or whatever and it feels like my damn rim is about to rip throu the damn tire! i do bottom out alot on the back end, shocks are too small. but the front kills me. any suggestions and yes the psi is correct or am i just not use to it yet thanks

Short shocks will do that. Personally, I'd recommend getting a set of 11" shocks. Your ride will be much smoother, even if they're cheap-o's off ebay. Lowering looks better, but it has a drastic effect on the ride quality and clearance (obviously). For the front, try progressives, or just change the weight of the fork oil.

Well, I'd recommend doing some research based on your setup. I run Bel Ray 30w and I never have a problem. It's not the smoothest ride ever, but I never bottom out up front.

You got that bad of road? Where are the springs set? They may be beat. Go to a stiffer shock to start. And front end oil, yea, go to heavy stuff. Ask a good bike tech what's He thinks you need. You may be able to do air shocks in the front end Just with air caps, not sure. Ask around. Keep looking, You will find it. Best of luck...........................

I thought about running air up front, but the only problem is finding an air kit to fit in 39mm forks. You pretty much gotta fab one, but it IS a good alternative if you got some extra cash and time. Definitely a nice ride.

MS, I went longer on the rear shocks to 13.5" Progressive 440s (standaqrds), I run Progressive fork springs and used the spacer full length. I chose BelRay 7w which seems to be the perfect choice. Bumps, whether going straight or with the tires hissing in the turns are a non event. I didn't know the tires would hiss until I tried to keep up with our Preacher on a new Yamaha StratoLiner. For a huge bike that thing takes turns far better than I imagined.

My front end used to bottom out all the time. I do have it lowered one inch in the front. What I did was just add one half ounce of standard fork oil to each tube up front and now I don't bottom out nearly as much, only on huge bumps I can't avoid.
If you have a larger budget, I've heard good things about the Ricor Intiminators.
As for the rear, have you turned the pre-load adjuster up or is it still on the lowest setting?
