Default New Daytona 3/4 helmet comparison...

I know a few have posted some pics/comments on various helmets lately so I thought I would do a thread on my recent Daytona 3/4 purchase. Pics are not the best since the light in the house is a little dim this morning but you can get an idea on sizing. Not that I was merely looking for a new cool slim helmet so much but I like an open face or half when the weather is nice but get tired of having to wear earplugs all the time to combat the wind noise. I went shopping on ebay for a little better deal than direct and was able to pick it up from http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Bombshel...__W0QQ_armrsZ1 for $54 shipped which was not too bad. Good vendor and fast shipping.

Here's a comparison showing my HJC fullface, the new Daytona and my Jafrum/EBC half helmet. I've got a small head (about 21.5" diameter) so my HJC is a small, the Daytona is a small and the Jafrum is actually and XS.

And of course a mugshot so you can guage the slim fit:

The helmet is pretty comfortable (slimly padded like most small DOT helmets and fits snug), it definitely cuts the wind noise and is not tall like some and shell being fiberglass its very light wgt. at about 1.8 lbs.

I've never seen the Fulmer helmet in person but this is much slimmer than the non DOT Biltwels but maybe a hair taller (actually have correct sizes though) and is most definitely slimmer than other 3/4 DOTs by Bell, Vega, Shoei, HJC etc. but of course the slimness means you sacrifice that thick plush padding but I'm used to that from my Half helmet. I've only taken a short ride with it and it does well at cutting the wind noise and far less wind drag or buffetting with and without my windshield on.

the fullface helmets with the small spoiler on the rear are ****. i've never had a helmet that cut through the wind so easily.

That 3/4 is nice, ordering one as soon as I figure out what size I need! Do you have any mugshots with the 1/2 on?

Looks good! Mine's coming on Monday; got it for $59.98. My head size is 22" and I ordered a large, hope it'll fit.

Hey did you happen to get your helmet yet? I'm about to order one but I'm not sure if I should get a large or XL. My head is just under 23" and I wear a large in all of my other helmets but was wondering if the daytona runs a bit big or small? Thanks.

Yeah I got it and unfortunately it is a bit loose so I have to exchange it for a medium.

Their size chart is pretty true and errors on the large size. Like my small meant for upto 21 1/8" fits fine even though I'm about 21 1/2".

Thanks for the quick reply's. Sorry you have to exchange it for a smaller size Iron71tike. It looks like I'll be going for the large.
