Default clutch cable adjuster location

Hi guys!
I recently replaced my handlebars with some taller ones on my '99 XLH1200.
Right now, since it's winter in my neck of the woods, I'm looking to replace my clutch cable. I mesured and I figure I need a cable about 12 inches longer than stock. I found some cables but there's one thing that baffles me because I don't know which one to choose: at the same given length, the clutch adjuster position varies by almost 7 inches. Is that relevant?
The cables in question are these:
Cable 1
Cable 2
Which one should I choose? Is there a rule? Does the location of the adjuster really matters ? I know the location is measured from the bottom of the cable, but whether is lower or higher on the cable really counts?

Thanks.
