Default GSXR swap & 180

Gsxr front end going on my sons 2003. Along with an EBR magnesium rear wheel and a 2”-4” stretch in the arm. Probably run a cafe ish rear end on top of the 180. Dropping some serious poundage!

Ok, 6” stretch. That’ll give us a 64.5” wb. Perfect for that 10.99 😉

Riser holes punched through the triple tree, bars on. Swingarm dropped off to have new slots milled in for the axle/axle block. We’ll cut the cross brace and weld in new cross brace, chain guard tap and battery tray iiiiifff we have room. Mostly reusing old parts so we should make pretty good time. Gonna dive into homemade fiberglass work for the seat and fender. Wish us luck haha Not much out there for cafe ish fender seat set ups that we like.

Just wondering, are you going to cut off the rear struts ?

I'm sure you checked the Storz tailsection for the XL's. I don't care for it, but did you look
at the XR version ? It seems decent, but you'd have to do some fab to get it to work...
https://www.storzperf.com/catalog/page7.html
(whoops, it is actually shown on page 8)

Here's aluminum versions from Omega Racer.

Also, HD has their version for the 'newer' 2016+ Roadsters - if you could find the parts...

thanks,

T.

thanks for the advice. Yes, hacking the struts even though we have a perfectly good 92 frame sitting in the shop haha

Waiting on the swingarm slots to get milled in and get it picked up before we can mount wheel and get going on the tail section. Wheel is sitting at 64.5” wb.
