Default First actual ride on the Sporty

I got my plates and registration today, so to celebrate I went and rode for a couple hours.
It's was great. Not to make any of you northern state guys jealous but it was 55 and sunny out. Threw on the leather, and I gotta say, I love the new bike, it really rides good.
Here's a pic if anyone is interested let me know what you guys think!

Congrats, my first ride on a Sportster was last Wednesday, bought it on Thursday. Been on it everyday since. Never knew what all the fuss was about but I admit the Sporty is a lot of fun to ride.

Great looking ride and great weather as well. What year? I'm thinking late 90s but could be totally off.

cheers and ride safe!

Nice ride. I am jealous of the 55 degrees. I ride daily up here in the north. This mornings ride was 18 degrees and 15 mp winds. Still was a great ride. Enjoy and be safe.

This past weekend was my first LONG ride on my new Iron.I bought it exactly a month and a half ago, still got the paper plates.
-
I did an 165 mile trip back and forth to the Island. It didn't show but the low fuel light actually turned on on my way back.. about 10 miles. I filled up before leaving.
Someone from Canada was interested in visiting the Island, and he asked me to make a trip there. There's usually good weather all year round really.... anyway

New Iron? South Padre Island? Heck yes!

Good for you lazydaze, you're in for miles of smiles! I've been riding big twins since the 70's and just got my first Sporty 2 weeks ago. I dig the chit out of it. I already managed to get a few hundred miles on it between snow storms. Definitely impressive rides.

Enjoy!

Not too far off! She's a 2002.
It has the peanut tank on it and the paint job give it a pretty classic look which I absolutely love. I got a great deal on her.

I'm really looking forward to the thousands and thousands of miles I'm gonna be putting on her.

I like the paint. Had an '02 myself for my last bike.
