6'6"... is a Nightster just a dream?
i was down in florida and a dealership there (Gulf Coast Harley) had a nightster there with forward controls and mini apes and it felt damn comfy... im' 6'6" with a 35" inseam and size 16 boots but this little guy felt damn good. All black with white wall tires... it looked sharp too.
I'm really looking for a VRSCB but i wasnt uncomfortable on the nightster (sitting on it at least)... what do you guys think? Should i give it a try? or keep with the Vrod idea? |
Look at the FXDB in black just add foward controls, just a thought.

Well, you've already figured out the most important thing: being comfortable on the bike.
Now try that V-Rod. Is that comfortable? Then demo ride them both. See which one has a harder time turning back into the dealer lot ;) Go with that one. |
there is nothing like a demo ride! ride both and find out what you like and buy that thing. All you will have to do then is get out there and ride like you stole it. My friend has a N and he is 6'8". He did a few mods and right off the top of my head i don't remember. He loves that thing.

I also say to take it for a demo ride. They are small bikes but powerful enough to take you down the road as fast as you want to go. They also make extensions for forward controls. They are fun bikes, either way, the V-Rod or N, you wont be disappointed!
|
i'm 6'1" and have no problem on my custom with forwards, you will need to go sit on one or ride one...a dyna and a v-rod is just a tiny bit bigger so it wont be a big difference imo.... almost all harleys put you in the same riding position it is mainly the mass of the bike that will make you "look" proportional on it.
if you think you may look too big on it sit on one and have someone snap a pic with your cell phone ? |

I live about 5 miles from that dealership and I know exactly what bike you're talking about. Freakin sweet bike. But if youre not comfortable on it, then there you go.

i just picked up a nightster about a month ago. im 6'2'' and 215 and have no problems riding on my nightster. i have added forward controls which does make a difference

I say if you like the bike and your comfortable on it then get it. I'm only 5'8" and have forward contols and love them, but would never own a Sporty without them.
