Default Oil Leak - Primary Chain Inspection Cover

I have a leak coming from behind the inspection cover, the small plate above the gear shift. The bolts holding it in place are tight. Is this likely to be a gasket problem or a sympton of something more expensive?

Be sure the gasket and surfaces are clean, if they are then get a new gasket and o rings.. make sure the o-rings are under the bolt heads.

Is it leaking or just kind of seaping? I guess either way, it is probably the gasket or o rings like said before. should be an easy fix.

Be sure to get the correct gasket. Moco came out with a thicker stiffer gasket but it only works with the new cover. In other words, new style gasket doesnt seal well with old style cover.

I had that happen on my 07 1200c, there is an upgraded cover that will stop it. the new cover is machined deeper inside where the 2 screws are and will compress the gasket better, I always thought it was the gasket or orings and it was the NFG cover all the time. If it leaks much it will blow back on the rear brake,

HD has a new updated paper gasket that fixes the problem, the original rubber gasket is junk, change the o-rings too.
