I'd be pretty safe in saying the sportster will be more fun to ride and probably not quite as dependable as the Honda. Another thing the HD has going for it is if you take care of it you can put 50k miles on it over the next 5 or 6 years and not lose too much resale value vs the honda which will lose around 50% of it's value over the same time and use.
