Default 2000 1200C vs 2002 1200C

Need advice/opinions. I am looking at 2 sportys the first is a 2000 1200C with 12,000 miles the second is a 2002 1200C with 19,000 miles. They are both the same price. All things being equal (which I know they aren't) which is the better bike?

Does one already have any upgrades like exhaust, air cleaner, seat, backrest, chrome goodies, etc, cause I'd go with that one.

I plan on "bobbing it" so most of the aesthetic goodies wont matter. but the 2000 does have drag bars, which I want...

all goodies aside...I dont think there was any major changes between the 2 years. I would go with the one that seems to have been taken care of the best. The 2000 has been babied in the mileage dept. Of course that often doesn't mean much.

I agree, the two year groups didnt have major changes that would make it an issue. For all intents and purposes they are just about the same bike. The best bet would be to see how well they were taken care of. I would say that scratches and scuffs and things shouldnt be a huge deal because you plan to chop it, but they are usually a pretty good indicator of how well it was taken care of in general. Eitherway I look forward to seeing the bob job. Keep us posted

$4500 for both. Sound like a deal (assuming both are in good running condition )?

NADA.com=2000 1200C with no add-ons=Low retail is $3500 and high retail is $4450.
2002 1200C with no add-ons=Low retail is $3900 and high retail is $4900.

It all just really depends on which bike gets your hormones all stirred up.
