killer trade?
allright everybody, looking for some info. i have an opportunity to trade a running 1982 sportster 1000 for an 02 yamaha warior. If i pull the trigger i'm gonna throw a weld on rigid set up and chop the hell out of this thing. i just don't know if the powerpant is up to the task. completely stock motor, low miles by the way. what kind of power will it have? haven't ridden the bike yet, these questions might sound stupid, but i"ve never been on a sportser. any info would be appreciated. thanks:icon_pirate:

your post makes no sense. you have the oppurtunity to trade an 82 sporty for an 02 yamaha warrior. which to me sounds like you own a sporty....
but at the end you say you never been on a sporty. but my 883 punched to a 1200 has plenty of balls. if that answers your question. if you own the yamaha, i wouldnt trade it for an 82 sporty id go for a newer one or try too. but hey man if you dig the bike hell yeah go for it. |
i have no idea as to whatinthehell yer talkin' 'bout

You mean you're going to rade a Warrior for a Sportster?
First of all I'd do it in a heartbeat. Bu hten I hate "cruiser" bikes. Secondly I agree with your plan of making it a hardtail. Love the look. But I don't know what you mean about the motor being up to the task. Please elucidate. |
It sounds like he is giving the Warrior up for the Sportster.....
|
sorry for confusion.
sorry for the confusion everybody, i own the warrior, it's a quad, not a street bike, and i would be recieving the sporty. wich i would wan to turn into a little rigid bobber/bar hopper. i just don't know if the motor would be worth it. i have my fxdx for daily and long distance rides, i really don't ride the quad much any more, so trading it would not break my heart, i just need to know if the 1000 motor will be worth it or do they have known problems that i need to take into cosideration.:icon_headbang:

an 82 warrior? Take the trade! The 1000 has been the motor for many years and held up. If you dont like the bike, sell it, you will get a hell of alot more out of the sporty than the worn out 4 wheeler.

Go for it... if its a running sportster.
It might need a little tweeking here and there but sounds like you ready to do a little work on it anyway. Sportsters are great bikes. |
I dont know why you are wasting time talking about it. I would take that deal before the dude changes his mind.
|
Jump on that SOB! It's one hell of a deal, IMO a TOTAL NO BRAINER!
