Default '04-'05 1200R or 883 owners - help please!

Before I call H-D Customer Relations in Milwaukee and unload on them....I urgently need input from any '04 or '05 XL owners that upgraded to chrome rocker covers. Tell me if you had any oil leak problems after doing this, since H-D is now telling me (after over a year, and 5 "warranty service" visits) that my leak was caused because I didn't also change to chrome rocker boxes![:@]

I believe this "explanation" to be just a cheap cop-out, but I want to hear from anyone else who had oil leaks under similar circumstances, and how H-D resolved it (or not, as the case may be).

In their five repair attempts, H-D never advised the dealer to try a new set of chrome covers (thought they did advise them to "sand flat" the gasket-mating surface on my chrome covers, removing the chrome plating and leaving a raw edge on the plating that will certainly peel sooner or later).

Many thanks to anyone who can give me first-hand info. on this subject!
