Cant help you out any on the pipes either as I have the slip ons also.But I have a 97 Sporty also and just wanted to say welcome to the club here.A lot of nice people and good info on here.

I'm looking at bassani sweepers too and just wondering if you can take all of the baffles out. I'm one of those that just likes as loud as possible

I know for sure that you can take the baffels out ... And it will be LOUD ... have you found any good pictures of a sportster with these pipes?

The only other picture I've seen of the pipes on a 86-03 sportster is a closely cropped picture.

Thanks for the link ... The left picture is much better than the close chopped one on Bassani's site. Im thinking of getting these pipes with the heat shields
