OK so I now want to lay myself out and try forward controls. Where is cheapest place to get a set for the Iron? I have looked in the classifieds here but there is nothing. Thanks. By the way I hit my 1000 miles in three weeks of ownership and one week was rain no riding!

I wouldn't suggest going cheap, I did that 2 yrs ago and now the chrome is coming off the controls, Now I'm going to look for a better set and cost be damned.

LOL - look, nobody is cheaper than me - ask my wife.
However, when it comes to my bike, I learned a while ago to pay a little more for any non-cosmetic items.
If you buy cheap, you will sometimes compromise safety, and will pay more in the long run.

did u install the mini apes? if so, did the cables need replacing? how difficult is it? i have an '04 1200 xlc

beware of rob`s if they send defective parts. i got v&h mo`s from them with 2 L/S pipes in box. thought, ok, it happens, but when i e-mailed them was told to go to v&h, since robs didn`t pack them it`s not their falt. that didn`t set right so wanted to return them, were never out of bags. no refunds on defective parts is their policy i was told. i could return if items were "sellable". still waiting for v&h to act. real bad experience with rob`s. never again.
