Default Right Hand Jockey Shifter installed!

my buddy who's a blacksmith, came up with an idea of keeping the left hand clutch where it is, and just add a jockey shifter behind the right leg... i loved the idea, so i was the guinea pig.
using the little pics we had of this dude's bobber with his shifter in this month's issue of The Horse mag... we made one.

his little heating forge thing hooked on to his work truck...we're heating the metal bar up to bend it and to make a leaf, just for the fun of it....

i just used the long linkage that was from my forward controls. made a couple of tabs to bolt on the rear footpeg holes, welded a tube to the two tabs, slid the bent bar thru the tube, and bent the hand shifter lever up ... if you can weld and bend metal, it's an easy thing to make. a bit weird to shift, though... but i love it! next up is adding an old glass door **** to the top instead of the golf ball.

i really like how people get creative and fab up their own parts...looks good, but doesn't it make the whole shifting process a lot slower?

i'm guessing that's 3 different sentences, eh? haha...
thanks!

how's it shifted? the shifter lever, is pointing up, has the linkage on it going back to the "leaf" ...that is on a lever that is pointing up...

that lever is connected all the way to the other side, where the shifter handle is pointing up.

imagine, if i tilt the golf ball lever forward, it makes the "leaf" lever move forward, which makes the linkage move forward, making the shifter lever move forward... works the same way as i move it backwards...now my right arm moves the shifter instead of my left foot.

keep in mind guys, this isn't the final product...haha. just a rough idea, or prototype. might get some harder metal later on. there's a little flex in this stuff.

yeah, it's a bit different to ride for sure. but one forward click to get into 1st, and the rest is click back for upshiftin.

Very cool. I'd also keep the golf ball.
