Default Rear Axle Spacers

I am replacing the rear axle on my 2000 Sportster 1200C and noticed the new spacers have a small triangular indentation on one end of the spacer. I looked at the installation sheet that came with the axle kit as well as the service manual. There is no mention of the triangular indentations. My guess is that it has something to do with spacer orientation. I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who knows.

I install them with the marked side of the spacer toward the bearing.
