A guy was looking at the emblems that are on my '05 1200C gas tank, and he is interested in getting a set.

He asked me if they were stock, and I told him that I believe they were.

Never paid much attention to them before, but they are actual emblems and not decals like many Harley's have installed.

Are these specific to the 1200C's, or are they on other Sportster's as well?

 

They came on the 1200C's (some of them), although they can be ordered (in red like yours, or in blue). Not sure if they came on other (non-Sporty) models...
They're nice - been considering getting a set for my '05 883 C.

That sounds like a good price. I checked with Surdyke's, and they are selling them for $48.00 each (show a list price of $60.00).

 

Yup. For the last few years that I remember the 883c's have had decals while the 1200c's have gotten the premier treatment.

 

I like those emblems too. I have seen sites online where you can buy them. I believe JP Cycles might carry them. A lot of people remove them and I don't know why...

Yeah , they are standard on the 1200 C only. I agree they look sharp. I don't know why anyone would want to remove them. I guess that's why they make vanilla and chocolate.
