Engine Upgrades for the 1200
#12
Well I'm new to the bike world although I did go to school for auto and diesel! Yeah I was thinking the same on the extra 50cc that it wouldn't be woth it either but was just curious if anone had done it on theirs! I don't usually ride like a retard but the group of guys I do ride with love to tear it up on ocation. I agree that it will take lots of headwork and cam! Who did you go through for your work? Did you have your heads flowed?
You'd probably be amazed at the what Doug calls the mild kit that I have, it flat hauls ***, I would bet there aren't a handfull of bikes here it Boise that are faster.

I went with NRHS Air Cleaner and 1250 kit, D&D Bobcat exhaust, high flow injectors and SE cams. Had Baisley rework the heads and bore out the throttle body. Plus a half dozen hours on the dyno setting the map just right. Also had to put in a lock out clutch since the stock one wouldn't handle the extra power. That got me above the 100 mark on my Iron.

I'm there also
So I have a 2003 anniversary 1200 I have done SE complete stage 4 heads and cams and Arlen ness stage 2 big sucker with bassani side by side shortys adjustable ignition and dynojet big twin carb kit still need to upgrade clutch and probably going to run a different filter because the big sucker is pretty bad when it rains because the filter is so large water does get into it and it doesn't recirculate blow back very well and I haul *** everywhere but I'm putting out close to 100 at the tire now I had the dealer build it and I never bother with changing piston size or anything because the bigger valves and lager cams got me where I like it but with the stock clutch I can tell I'm not hooking into the friction zone very quickly but still pull the wheel if I get a little antsy with the throttle over all I have been running it this way for about a year and half and as long as the air filter is cleaned every oil change and this thing is the most reliable transport I have ever had no problems at all out of it except when I neglect the air filter it can't breath and fouls plugs really quick but over all great reliability

Close to a 100 hp without a dyno sheet or dyno tune usually means 85 hp.
You must have the rubbermount version of the screamin eagle stage x with 575 or 585 cams?

same goes for the se-stage 4 "street" version. The street version uses 585s and says it's for 2014+. The race version of the stage 4 kit
looks like they revised the race kits this year with "A". And they now use 585 intead of 575.
WTH?
