Default Nose cone timing module

Has anyone had any experience with after market programable timing module/cam sensor in the nose cone right side of the 2003 sportster custom?

I have one, it works great. But on most bikes it's a waste of money, if you have a bunch of engine work (headwork, compression, cams) you have to have one but if you are a Stage1-2 you don't.
Take and old Thunderstorm Buell as an exeample they had the best Harley built at the time and they used the same ignition module as a Sportster and the SE module was the same also other than they raised the rev limit.
