stretched frame and swingarm
Has anyone stretched their shortster's frame and/or swingarm? Was thinking of doing this myself. Is there anyone or a company that specializes in this?

RE: stretched frame and swingarm
if your talking about making the frame longer, ive never heard of anyone doing this, i have seen plenty chopped, by notching the back bone, and putting longer down tubes in the front of the frame, this pushes the neck out and by adding longer fork tubes, you kick the front wheel out further. this makes the bike look like an old style chopper, and not so much a streched ride like you see on tv. as far as the swing arm ive never seen an extended swing arm on a harley, only a wider one to accomodate a wider tire. hope that helps good luck!:)

Plenty of people have stretched frames and lengthened swingarms. Stretched front downtubes, stretched backbones, stretched rear downtubes, or any combination. Used to see a lot more stretched swingarms on HD than now. Take a look at the drag bike crowd and you'll see plenty of 'em. Or if you really want to see a lengthened swingarm, find a hill-climber!

When putting the wide rear tire on my bike, it came with a swing arm 2" longer than stock.

I built a 2" longer swing arm for my bike from 2 old junk swingarms I bought on EBAY, I cut them up and had a local machine shop make a solid steel slug to go inside and welded it all back together, works great, it's been on the bike for several years now. I have about $70 in the whole thing.
