Default can't find diy threads for tank raise, coil/ignition relocation, exhaust swap

Hello all,

I've been searching the forums for some DIY's I want to do for my 2007 Nightster but can't find them. Can someone please post the links for the following DIY mods:
- tank raise
- coil/ignition relocation
- changing exhaust (want to install V&H shortshots myself)

Also, from a range of 1-5 (5 being the most difficult), how would you rate these mods?

Thanks!

There's a great one I used when I did my tank lift. It's incredibly easy, I'm usually awful at DIY projects. I still haven't moved the coil (and I'm leaving the ignition where it is) but it looks terrific just having those wires tucked.

Tank Lift- Difficulty 2
Its easy, got to hardware store find semi thin metal cut it to length desired and drill hole same size as bolt for the Stock tank mount. Buy two more short bolts/nuts same size as the stock one. Bolt together, done

Coil/Ignition Relocation- Difficulty 3
Rip all plastic supports off and zip ties. Unbolt the Ignition/Coil Bracket. Re-run all wires on top of frame tube with the tank propped up. Zip tie wires to frame in desired spot. Make or buy bracket for Coil/Ignition, bolt them onto the bracket and bolt bracket on to Bike

Exhaust- Difficulty 3
Unbolt Stock Exhaust and bolt new one up the same way, just have to play with it to find the order in which to squeeze the exhaust to line up properly

You can do it, if you get frustrated, have a beer, take ole lady to bedroom, come out later and try it again. Then repeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shortshots installation was not difficult at all. If you didn't get instructions with them, they're right there on the V/H site...or right here on this link:

There are plenty of threads here, if you know how to use the search function. I used to have a difficult time using it, as I am not very 'puter savvy. But now I just use the advanced search feature, so I can just look in seperate forums. Such as the links above, they are all from just the Sportster section. That makes it much easier to find what you are looking for.
