Well, first of all, if you are dealing with an '09 it's doable with little problem, but if it's an 2010, then you are going to have expensive-to-correct issues concerning the OEM ECU that can only be corrected by adding either an SEST or Thundermax. The '09 allows a cheap addition of a Dynojet PCV however.

Forget the cams, injectors and all that until you have the stock heads reworked by someone like NRHS(or is it NHRS?) or Zippers. You simply won't be able to boost her to her full 1200 potential until you do the head work required.....You can do this in stages where you install the SE 1200 conversion and PCV along with your high flow intake and exhaust first, then follow up with the head work.

You really need to register with xlforums.com....Those guys there offer really good info on conversions, plus Dan, the owner of NRHS hangs there and offers great advice. (DAN is also retired Army, so he will fersure treat you right)

Be careful over there!

well that post pritty much covered everything. as illuded to (at least i think it was) look for other engine guys to boost your power, there are companies out there like nhrs who are specificaly greared to performance with motors, unlike the moco who has their fingers in a little bit of everything, i wouldn't get motor work done by harley...just my 2 cents

Don't do the Harley 1200 kit
Do the ****** Racing 1250 kit for the same money but better heads.

NRHS is the best way to fly.

Way better than harleys 1200 kit.

What makes the NRHS kit much better is that they bore and hone the cylinders with torque plates and will fit the piston rings for you for free or a small charge....It all boils down to ring seal and fitment. NRHS also offers the very best customer support via phone or email. They really get personal and will refund/fix any problems instantly.

HD ain't in the 883 to 1200 conversion business, but NRHS is, so they simply try harder.

+1 on NRHS. I did the converstion to 1250 using their kit about 6 weeks ago. Great product, and Dan is very helpful.
