Default Low Fuel Indicator Light on after fill up

My 2007 883L has the low fuel indicator light stay on after a fill up. Anyone else have this problem? What are some possible fixes? Fuse? Fuel pump?

Thanks crew!

It's not exactly unheard of. Here is a link to 1 or 2 other similar threads.

Thanks for the link. There is a lot of good reading in there, just not finding a lot of answers. Some mention the fuelpack, others say that isn't the problem. I'll keep reading.

I need to get this fixed, I'd hate to ride around with a warning light on.

Most likely, you will need to go to the dealer to get it fixed, if there is such a thing as fixing it.
Mine has been on for over a year now. I just use the trip odometer and fill up by that. I don't feel like paying the dealer to fix something that shouldn't be broken! And, the warranty has run out!

Well, today it didn't come on. I think the posts that read "intermittent problem" are the ones I can relate to. I am going to keep an eye on this issue, but I am happy it was only on for one day. I'm not sure if the fuel was even low (since I just bought the bike it was my first fill up).

After filling up try tiping it upright off the stand and sloshing the gas around a bit before turning the key on, seems to help...sometimes.

Same problem here, but not just after fill ups. Comes on pretty much it just wants to **** me off.

I reboot, even while still in motion, by turning switch off and back on. Pull your clutch in though when you do.

Most times it will stay off after that, but still a pain.

Sounds like a sender or level sensor problem.

My N is in the shop again today for this issue. After replacing the sensor in the tank (which didn't work) dealer called manufacturer and suggested they tie the sensor all the way up to the top and see if it still comes on. Now it does not come on at all. I guess what that test did accomplish is that it's definitely something in the sensor and not the light on the instrument cluster.

Harley wanted the dealer to replace the entire fuel pump and sensor assembly in the tank, so that's what is getting done right now. Hopefully they'll be finished today. I'll post a follow up when I get the bike back.
