Default What do you think about the XR1200?

Some people were unhappy that Harley Davidson launched the XR1200 strictly overseas at first, and now that it is being offered here in limited numbers, do you think that it will be as popular as the classically styled Sportster 1200 Custom? (Click here for a comparison review)

that article says the XR makes LESS torque than a stock 1200C

that is just not fair to ANYONE who buys an XR for the performance.......

I *think* I like it. I've always like cafe racers and flat track bikes, so the style is there for me. It just sounds like it may be a little more show than go judging by the reviews I've read. I might have to ride one before I make the final judgement.

I don't think I like them much, but I would like to ride one and see for myself.

Styling is subjective, but I can tell you now that I own one and having rode the bike all day yesterday, this bike is by far and away the best handling and braking bike Harley has EVER put out. It will trounce all other Harleys on a back road, stock for stock. Period.

wait until you open up airbox, pc3 and exhaust, it will wake it up for sure. I like it for what it is. It`s what a sportster should be in my opinion in this day of age with modern wheels, rubber, forks, etc... I think where it and was designed for Europe, alot of people dont like it because we all know most HD people dont like big changes. No offence to anyone.

I think it's butt ugly. It might handle and brake better than other Harleys, but if you wanted something like that, why not buy a metric. It will do those things better and cost less. I say buy a harley for what a harley is and what it does better.
