Default My Iron & Two Questions...

Here is my 2010 Iron with 2" Rushes and heat wrap plus dropped mirrors - all researched on this forum so thanks to all those who helped me decide. It’s not a great pic unfortunately...will get some better ones.

It’s not a big difference from the stock but I love the look of the bike too much to change it.

Now onto the questions:

1. How much would it cost in the US to paint/airbrush the bike black matte? All the black bikes were sold out and they weren't getting any new ones for a while so I picked up the silver one. Just looking for ballpark figures because here, in Dubai, they want to charge me around $6-700 to paint it all and I find that too expensive for a relatively small paint job. I'm not looking for anything special, just want it to look like the stock black Iron. I really have no idea how much this should cost so just looking for input.

2. I have noticed that since I put the Rush's on when I turn the bike on it's as if I am opening the throttle a little and I get the same sound from the engine when I have the clutch pressed sometime - most of the time within 10 minutes of turning the bike on. As soon as I let go of the clutch or pop first gear its fine. Asked the technicians at HD and they said it’s the engine gasping for air due to the mufflers - is this true?

Over to you guys - thanks for the input...

That price is not bad at all if your leaving the tins on the bike and they have to take them off.

Cant help you with the EFI.

That's a good price on the paint... with the tins off the bike.

I'm just jealous you get to ride a bike in Dubai..... When I was there, I thought to myself how badass it would be to have a bike for the "down" days.... Now, back to the non-hijacked post (and be safe over there).

I don't know how popular the Irons are in Dubai... but an option would be to talk to the dealer and possibly publicize the fact that you want to exchange tins/tank with somebody who bought a dark Iron...

That price would be for them to have to take of all the tins and re-assemble so it sounds like a good deal after all...

There were around 10 Irons brought into Dubai and they sold out pretty quickly but not sure anyone will want to swap as the black is the most preferred but I will definitely ask - might get lucky, thanks for the tip.

Riding in Dubai is ok, not really that many places to go but I do what I can. Now theres not much riding to be done now because its getting too hot.

If I were you I would two tone the bike-make it half mate silver and half mate black-a two tone like some of the stock nighters came like. On FI bikes when cold they have a fast idle function till they warm up-cars have this too. The pop you are hearing is due to the slip on's but if you just have slip on's you are not runnig too lean IMO.
