Default Wanting to clean up the handlebars...

I am planning to get some apes for my bike and I want to clean up the cables and wires. So I have some questions...

1. Does anyone know of any good internal throttle cable assemblies? Brand?

2. Are there any internal clutch cable assemblies? Brand?

3. To do all of this plus wires, what would be the minimum diameter of the bars? Will it work with 1 inch diameter ends? (I have small hands so large grips are out).

Thanks to all.

Ok, new questions but first...

I found these two items for the throttle and clutch

http://www.demonscycle.com/Handlebar...-p5702136.html

http://www.demonscycle.com/Handlebar...-p5763796.html

New questions are how about a brake lever that is setup for routing the brake line internally as well? Or is that even possible?

Thanks to all.

I'd like to see this thread revived. I have seen evidence that it can be done, but I can't seem to get input on the subject. I have seen hydraulic clutch lines go into the bars at the top and they seem to be thinner. I have seen clutch cables going in at the same place but the their may have been grabbing and stalling? Hard to tell with typos. Totally internal clutch, so you twist grip, is not an option for me. It's not b/c it's illegal in all 50 states (doesn't help and must be a reason) but b/c I just can't imagine getting a good friction zone and see disaster in the future of a daily machine. I don't think I am willing to spend the money on a hydraulic clutch. No real advantage on a machine as new as mine aside from less maintenance and maybe making it easier to hide clutch line in bars.

I've also seen brake lines go in bars at top, with nothing negative hinted asside from it being a PIA.

Be interesting to find out some master cylinders are made with the intention of putting the line into the bars. For example I saw a bike in this months Baggers that seemed to be built to hide the spot where the wire disapears behind a piece of chrome that was part of master cylinder. No mention of it in article so I don't know if it was custom. Bet it was.

Thoughts, ideas, pro's, con's please!

You can do the throttle no problem. Ive seen them on several bikes.

Just loose the clutch on the bars all together and go with a foot clutch/hand shift.

Loose the front brake and go completely suicide...if ya got any *****.

Just kidding about the ***** remark.... but it would clean em up!

I have two throttle internal wire kits from demons cycle.. funny enough .. I live close to their store... each time I go there they have been super helpful, knowledgeable and cool.. my take on the internal wiring.. throttle is a go with their kits.. clutch I imagine is going to be difficult to control.. unless you are willing to spend top dollar on a exile kit..... I ride with a foot clutch... it has decent travel but even then it is very touchy .. .. my take.. internal wiring throttle=yes... ; clutch internal wiring=not sure... I have big plans for cleaning up the bars using the demons cycle internal wiring kits... but I have to wait until I come back from Daytona bike week .. PM me if you are willing to discuss ideas ....
