Default T-Bars on an '04 XLC - Almost Done

Been picking up parts for my conversion from the stock XLC riser / bar combo to a T bar setup. I dug into it today and am about 90% finished. I also picked up a new Metzeler ME880 150 rear tire.

I still have to bleed the front brakes since I changed the lines. Once that's finished, I have to do a once over and make sure everything is tightened down and tie off a few lines and cables.

I went with an 8" rise, 5" pullback set of 1 1/4" bars. I pulled the wires thru myself and used all the stock wires and cables. I'll get some better pics in the daylight.

That looks good. Did you have to fab or buy anything special to mount the speedo there, turned that direction or is that the stock location?

As promised, here are some daylight shots. Everything went fine, but it took a while to bleed the front brakes. Also, the throttle doesn't snap back to idle when released. I searched the forums last night and tried a few things but nothing worked. I tried to move the grip outward a bit and completely removed the screws from the switch housing (and opened it up) and the problem remains. I also tried adjusting both throttle cables and nothing changed. The throttle lock is completely loosened also.

So a quick question...Is there a spring on the carb that helps the throttle return to the idle position? Maybe something that came off during my install?

Anyway, here are some additional photos. And Williams HK-WS, I purchased all the parts based on info from the forums. The speedo relocation was originally done by Capttawes. The speedo is now mounted on the top triple tree. I'll post a list of parts later. The whole project cost about $300.

Default Tank lift 1.5"

I made up some brackets to lift the front of the tank on my '04 XLC 1.5". Obviously I'll need to reroute and hide the wires. I'm going to try it for a couple of days and see how it affects my mileage before I hit reserve.

Maybe I'll keep it as-is, maybe I'll raise it to 2", but I don't want to compromise my mileage too much....A coil relocation is also in order, so anyone who has a suggestion on how and where to move it on a carbed Sporty please chime in...
