Securing a Saddlemen BR3400 to Seat

I have a 2006 Sportster 1200C and am planning to buy a Saddlemen BR3400 bag for travel. I want to know if anyone has experience (good or bad) using only the under-seat mount that comes with this bag? I do not have a sissy bar, so the bag would be secured (only for long trips) using the under-seat mounting/strap system. Let me know your experience/thoughts.

You can see the bag at Dennis Kirk here:

Thanks!

Steve

I can't help you with your question yet as I just ordered this exact bag from Dennis Kirk this past Sunday. It's enroute to my house and I can let you know how secure it is attached to the seat when I get it. I plan on using this bag on my Softail. By the way, from all the price hunting I did, Dennis Kirk was the cheapest for this particulat product including shipping. There was one on eBay waaay cheaper but the seller had horrible feedback and I didn't feel like fighting with an ahole should I never receive it. Good luck.

I have a small Saddlemen Roll Bag for my XL. Don't know if it's the same model as yours, but it mounts under the seat. Actually - the mounting pad goes under the seat and the bag buckles to the pad. I've had it on for about 500 miles - works great. The first few days (2 weeks maybe) I had to periodically adjust the mounting straps that hold the bag...the mounting pad itself is very secure.

Got the Saddlemen BR3400 today. Mounting using the straps is secure and a very nice setup. It may take a few days to allow the straps to stretch but once they do, you shouldnt have to adjust frequently. The under seat mounting is pretty cool and the pad that comes with the bag made to use as a back rest is a nice concept. Overall, the bag is pretty large and can hold a lot of stuff. It's also well made; not the best out there but certainly not the worst nor is it cheap quality. For the money its a good bag and I recommend if you're looking for a decent quality bag thats roomy for a good price.

Glad to hear the results. Sounds like a great bag, I'm going to order. Thanks again!
