Default Torx Plus Bits

Gathering up some tools to prepare for my 15K mile maintenance and other projects that I have in mind and I was planning on going with a good set of Torx Plus bits to minimize the chances of stripping any of the screws.

Question is, will I be okay with only just a Torx Plus set or will I need a set of regular Torx bits for some screws?

No Torx Plus bits are needed if you have a good set of regular Torx...No where in any HD anuals does it mention any Torx plus...This is per my service manager at my dealer i frequent.

I think your service manager needs to go back to school. You will strip torx plus screws with torx drivers and that is not one thing you want to do along side the road.

What ever you do save some cash borrow torx from some where then when you have them out throw them as far away as possible and replace with chrome allen bolts like i did below....

WTF you saying? Tell me where there are Torx plus fasteners on Harleys and that comment will make sense Maybe. I have not stripped a Torx fastener on my bike after 50k miles yet.. I have ruined torx bits but only because they were cheap, Bought some better ones and no more problems. No need to have Torx Plus bits for a Harley...

Where on your bike did you find Torx Plus screws?
I've never found anything but standard Torx.

I was on the verge of ordering some torx plus tools after reading some posts on here about them, so i had a close and hard look at all the fasteners i could see on my bike and none looked like torx plus. Glad i looked first : )

If you can fit a Torx Plus bit in your Torx fastener you need new fasteners, sinmple as that. To each their own though.
I do agree that Torx Plus is a better bit/fatener combo but they are so much harder to find. So i am not gonna run out and buy all new fasteners and bits for my bike when all the fasteners on my bike already come with regular Torx fasteners...How friggin stoopid would that be.

You have no Torx Plus

A guy posted about HD using torx plus back in January, many are still repeating it
