Haha! This has been a common problem on the boards lately (moving one post above the other).
There are many kits out on the market that mount your turn signals onto your shock mounts. However, that is if you just "chop" the rear fender. If you plan on throwing the whole fender out, I would try looking into LED lights that you could solder onto the frame and use as turn signals. Have you also done away with your horn? I am fondly attached to all my little gadgets. lol
Seriously, though, how does going without the rear fender go? Going without the front seems almost commonplace. But the rear is very unique. I'm almost afraid if I went without my rear fender, an incident may occur that may negate the need of moist towelettes for some time...

I could see doing this on the softail, but the sporty...no way. Going rigid isn't really my thing. Is that what you ended up doing? Looks good, but I at least like a moderate amount of comfort. lol
(I actually think this is more of a sportster thing...I can't imagine my crossbones rocking that look very well...)
