No Sportsters allowed!
Me and my Sporty was shot down by Harley biker club today.
I'm a very new newbie. I spoke to a club to see what is their criteria to join. I'm considering joining a club once I have some experience riding, I just was curious. The president of the club ask what type of bike I had; I responded " A Sportster 1200". He said that you have to have a bike 1600 cc's or more. Okay, I responded.
He went on and on about Sportsters being a small bike, and that women in the club started with Dyna, Road king, etc. He said that I'm wasting money on a Sportster because you can't ride long; no place to store things or add accessories. He said I can get a good Dyna for $11,000. Call him when upgrade to a bigger bike.
Wow, I was shocked.
I love my bike. I was looking for a group to ride and hangout with. I was not looking to get in a Di*k size contest.
I will be a loner until I get experience. These dudes will crush a newbie's riding experience.Sportster M/C wanted!

That's messed up man. Even most of the 1% clubs usually have 1000cc+ rules because of the older knucklehead and panhead 61ci engines. Tell me a true biker who would turn down a genuine knucklehead because it "was a girls bikes since it ain't over 1600cc!" and I'll show you someone who's got a pushrod up their ***! Generally the only bikes off limits are the 883's and the 1950's small displacement bikes.
You don't want to join that club anyway. As toastman said, "96ci=1584cc"
