#21
Hello, i am a new member of this forum from Milano - Italy and i am interested to your project for the heel toe shifter made from billet; I want to replace the original forward control installed on my XL883C custom. At the present i have arranged a very simple but well working solution that i will try to post anyway i am looking for a most professional construction.

Yes, i made it and it can be done at the home garage without particular tools;
It is the easier an cheaper approach appeared in my mind but of course something better can be done, for instance i am interested to the billet solution that TenneseeMustangPerf seems to be preparing.
If someone is interested to my solution i will be happy to supply the relevant details.

First, a reduction bushing must be provided in order to reduce the spline bore diameter of the std mid control lever (suitable to match the spline gear shaft) to 5/16" that's the diameter of the screw that take it in place.
Second, an hole must be drilled at 90° from the existing locking screw than screwed 1/4" to locate a grain that tightened will help to avoid the downward rotation of the lever.
The lever rotation is the major problem to be solved due to the force applied by the heel related to his length, the mid lever shape that i chosen help to reduce this phenomenon.
Sorry for the long post
