What do you guys do with the extra wiring after the install? Is there a best place to route/wrap/hide it and did you use heat shrink?

Yeah, the extra wiring is a hassle. The actual resistor and connectors could be in a much shorter package. Anyhow, I enclosed everything in an auto split wire loom and routed this with zip ties away from exhaust and abrasion hot spots.

Not the tidiest installation and I would have preferred the ACCEL type black sleeving kit. I was careful not to put kinks in the wire or seal the connectors with dielectric grease. These must be free to breathe for the O2 sensor to vent properly.

My front left downtube is kinda busy now but the rear wires are tucked out of sight behind the left ECM cover. I checked the plugs afterwards and they have a nice light tan color, with the rear running a little hotter as to be expected. My verdict: the X14iED's are a good mod for stock / mild tune. Cheers, RR

Glad I found this post. Good info in here. With the mods I have planned the XiED is going to be perfect for my Iron.

A GOOD, key word here Is "Good" dyno man and Listening to His choice for
Fuel management and possibly His reccomendations for pipe n filter..
7,8,9,,possibly 10 more HP and Torque,,a very snappy throttle,,
Going from a stock 2012 1200C to PCV, Python slip-on's and S&S A/C feels more than 10 on my ride. Hoping at some point in time to put it on a dyno to compare it to stock.

sorry to bring back an old post.

I have a chance to buy a used a pair of XiED and want to install them on my 2011 883 Iron. Currently have Vance and Hines 3" slip-ons and stock A/C. However I would like to add an aftermarket A/C (jocker machine? or VO2 for Vance n Hines).

Will XiED be good for this set up?

Thanks!

I have a 2011 1200C and installed Cobra 3" slip-ons, SE air filter and the Xieds. Runs smoother and a bit cooler as well. However, I don't know how much difference you having an 883 makes, if any.
