Add a 12volt power source to your sportster / nightster

Cool!
Believe it or not, I once turned an 06 Vrod into a full fairing/ batwing bagger with
HD radio, stereo speakers, etc...But, I'm not going to do that to my nightster. Going to keep it simple. I like the nightster's "old school meets technology" styling.
Although at times I do wish I have heated gear on...esp where I ride (near the ocean) most of the time...it gets really windy and cool.

Nice. I did one of these the other day, but I didn't go to this extreme. Mine is real sloppy. I just took a 12V cig connector that I had, and soldered a SAE cable to it with a 15A fuse in it. Then used shrink wrap to seal it.
I keep it in my side bag that is bolted to the battery box where the battery band on my Dyna was located for charging phone, or a 12V air pump, computer usage, etc. I figured the 15A fuse that you cut off would work just as well.
I had all the parts laying around, and total cost was 30 minutes work.
That is a nice setup. Good job.

Looks like you already had a connector hooked up for your tender, you could just plug your power outlet into that instead of adding another one from your fuse box. I use mine for the tender or I hook my power outlet into it and run the wire into my side bag with my phone charger to recharge it. It is already fused right off of the battery and you don't have to have the key on for it to have power.
I added my power outlet this way too. This was an easy way to power my GPS. I just dont leave anything plugged in when I put the bike away. I usually pull the outlet off and connect the battery tender.
