I'm soo excited!!! I have been riding around the mall, in a parking lot (in between snow storms, of course!) and getting in as much practice time as possible since I bought the bike back in December!! But, it's been soo cold out here (i'm in NJ) and with the crazy (but fun!) snow storms, I've been trying to get in as much safe practice time I could.

I even recently did a short side-road ride briefly a few weeks ago, just to the bf's friends house to wash the bike... with the bf riding along side me.

HOWEVER, today, as I write this, I have completed 50 total miles on my bike in one day! Awesome feat, in my opinion, for a newbie! I started off in the mall lot for an hour or two earlier today. I just drove around, and practiced changing gears, and coming to a full stop, and then taking off. This mall has restaurants and a movie theatre, so there was a light amount of traffic. But, it was enough to get me 'warmed up' and comfy. I did honk at the ducks each time I passed by them! LOL. I passed by a few other bikers (they were gathering/meeting up), and honked at them as well - by the 5th time I passed them, they already had their hands up before I even passed by! (lol)

Anyway, my bf and his friend met me at the mall on their bikes, and from there, we road side roads to a local town, stopped for a quick bite to eat, and continued on and just basically explored the roads.

I was totally comfy on the bike, and was sooo mesmerized with the world around me as I rode along!! I made sure to practice the skills I learned in the Riders Edge course, and keep enough distance between myself and the other cars on the road.

I'm excited and just wanted to share!!! Can't wait till next sunday!!! I attached two pics! My Forty Eight is in the middle, (notice that Solo side bag!! thank you Lick's for the group discount!!) my bf's bike is in blue, and his friends bike is in gold! We are a colorful bunch!! LOL

Reread her post man. They rode to a near by town and had lunch and then cruised around a bit.
